Ford Ranger / Everest 3.2 TDCi EURO5 - Performance Turbochargers

Ford Ranger / Everest 3.2 TDCi EURO5 - Performance Turbochargers

The latest revision Garrett GTB2256VK, for the Ford Ranger / Everest 3.2 TDCi EURO5 DuraTorq motor, is used as the starting point. The compressor wheel is upgraded to a German engineered high performance billet compressor wheel, with state of the art geometry and ultra lightweight design. The compressor housing is then machined to H7 ISO standards to ensure absolute perfect bore tolerance. Our stage 2 & 3 turbocharger rear housing is also machined to the same ISO 7 Tolerances to fit the high performance ultra lightweight turbine wheel. In addition to above, the variable geometry control is adjusted to allow 15% more exhaust gas flow for a reduction in lag and smoother boost. This step is essential for turbocharger to operate correctly at peak efficiency. All turbochargers are fitted with new Hella VGT actuators.

Reliability

Precisely balancing Aus Dyno turbochargers is a key critical factor to ensure unit longevity and performance. Good balance not only drastically improves reliability but also improves smoothness and acoustics. The difference between a stock unit and an Aus Dyno turbocharger is instantly noticeable. Great care is taken to consistently meet our stringent balancing standards for all turbos we sell. Firstly, parts are balanced at slow speeds in multiple planes using a CNC machine. Components are then assembled and dynamically balanced, this time maxing out the Cimat VSR48 Big Twin machine to speeds well over 180,000 RPM. This achieves the ultimate reliability and acquires a standard far beyond OEM.

When fitting this turbo, it is HIGHLY recommended to seek professional tuning.

Zero-ing turbo gain maps will allow you to tune the VGT duty map in open loop. This is required to account for the drastic increase in turbo efficiency. Some tuners have recommended to leave the computer in open loop to prevent transient boost spiking and turbo failure due to boost leaks over speeding the turbo.

It is recommended to NOT exceed (pressure side) Exhaust Manifold Temperatures (EGTs) above 800c for the 3.2 DuraTorq. However, the turbocharger can handle sustained temperatures as high as 850c.

The performance of stage 0, 1 & 2 turbochargers is within stock injector capacity. Stage 3 turbochargers require larger injectors to take full advantage of increased airflow. It is not recommended to excessively increase injection duration in order to max out the Stage 3 turbochargers efficiency.

The stage 0 turbo is rated to 30 psi. You will see boost pressures tapering at higher rpms

The stage 1 turbo is rated to 30 psi. It is possible to see pressures of 34psi.

The stage 2 turbo is rated to 34 psi. It is possible to see pressures of 38psi.

The stage 3 turbo is rated to 38 PSI. It is possible to see pressures as high as 45psi.
